12 of DLM’s new IP68 200t Running Line Monitors ready to dispatch to a prestigious Winch manufacturer

October 2, 2015

Destined for the Offshore industry in South East Asia, DLM’s new 200t Running Line Monitor (RLM) was specially selected for this application due to its unique rugged design and reliability in adverse conditions. The recently redesigned Running Line Monitor is fully sealed to IP68 and incorporates heavy duty roller bearings fully sealed in specially designed stainless steel housings. With the ability to easily maintain the Running Line Monitor through sealed greasing points on every one of the wheels, the monitor is able to perform longer without the need for regular servicing and minimal maintenance.

The RLM is able to measure line tension through the use of one of DLM’s renowned Load Pin’s in the centre wheel, but it also has the ability to measure speed and distance. Unlike other heavy duty Line Tension Monitoring devices on the market, the DLM RLM is easy to rig by one person even when using large diameter rope. Mainly due to the easily removable top section with integrated handling grips and a quick release subsea rated load cell connector.

Martin Halford DLM’s MD commented:

“We have been manufacturing Line Monitoring devices for many years and the DLM Running Line Monitor has been successfully supplied to numerous offshore companies around the globe. Over time our Engineering team has refined our RLM design through practical experience in the industry and sound Engineering principles, which has culminated in the production of a first class product which prioritises quality and reliability”

The 200t RLM is available now from DLM and can be supplied for use with a wide range of rope diameters and fully calibrated traceable to national standards. They can be supplied as a standalone item with purely electrical outputs, with custom displays or DLM’s Systems Engineers can fully integrate them into a custom design system.
