Crane Load Monitoring System

Grab Crane Load Monitoring System

July 22, 2014

DLM were approached to produce a retro-installed load-weighing and data collection system for a pair of quay side grab cranes on the banks of the Thames. The system was required to automatically weigh and record the load prior to being dispersed, and send the information via a GPRS connection to a central weigh station at the end of each un-loading sequence. In the winter of 2011/2012 DLM were commissioned to design, manufacture and install the system. Using our intelligent Sirius© amplifiers housed within one of our Shear Pin Load Cells, a bespoke communications and hardware interface housing, position and grab sensors and a bespoke software program, we developed a complete solution that exceeded our clients expectations and provided the fully-automated system they required.
