Load Monitoring and GPS Signal Monitoring System

July 22, 2014

DLM won a prestigious contract to refit 6 Cable laying vessels with state of the art monitoring equipment which integrated Load, Speed and Distance information from on board cable tensioners and winches into one central hub.

The system was also designed to monitor each ships GPS signal strength (which is imperative to cable laying operations) and relay this information to a central hub along with warning beacons.

A fully networked system which was design for easy future expandability, it consisted of visible and audible alarms, Panel meter displays, Serial retransmission and HMI interfaces.

Future expansion options include, CCTV views and monitoring, large outdoor displays, and protocol conversion between PLC’s.
