Cable Laying Vessel Load Monitoring System Refit

July 22, 2014

DLM designed, manufactured and installed a complete retro fit Load Monitoring System on board a Cable Laying Ship.

Comprising 2 x Saddleback Monitors to monitor DOHB line tension and Load Cells on the Linear Cable Engine. There were also multiple displays showing the load values, speed and distance in various different locations on board the ship with incorporated alarms, warning beacons and large displays.

DLM designed a unique pitch compensation device which was fitted to the LCE in order to compensate for the vessels motion when monitoring the line tension.

With a total of 24 displays it was one of the largest install projects DLM have undertaken in recent years.
